The Adams County Department of Weights & Measures strives to protect the public in commercial weighing and measuring practices, to achieve fair competition among businesses, and to facilitate trade between the states. This is accomplished by:
Inspecting and testing at facilities that sell by weight, measure, and/or count.
Assuring that the devices used and the method of sale followed are correct, accurate, and legal.
Eliminating from use those devices that are incorrect and/or inaccurate, and those methods of sale that are not legal.
Responding to consumer complaints.
