The Sheriff's mission is to provide service of civil and criminal documents for the court and community, transport all prisoners for Court of Common Pleas, serve warrants for the court, issue License to Carry Firearms and License to Sell Firearms and provide security for the four (4) courtrooms. The office will also provide support as required for DUI Checkpoints, Adams County Drug Task Force and other Law Enforcement functions as requested. The office holds real estate/personal property sales for the court, enforces the motor vehicle code in Adams County, and other functions as authorized by the Sheriff.
Qualifications - Deputy Sheriff
All Deputy Sheriff's are required to attend basic training academy of 760 hours and attend continuing education courses of 24 hours every two years. Deputy Sheriff's also attend various in-house training programs as determined by the department training division. This includes firearms qualification twice every year.
